Comedy: Auto Tuning Crying Babies

Yep just as I suspected. They sound just like your favorite rapper/conglomerate pop artist. Also, I was just unfortunate enough to see Drake in concert (I'm sorry for posting his crap on the site) and after a song he exclaimed "auto tune is not dead!" Hahaha, has rap gotten so bad they can't even come up with a style anymore? Just a bad singer's musical application? Let's look at the progression of crap phases rap has gone through: Crunk, Snapping, Hyphy, Less is more beats aka we don't know how to play instruments, and now auto-tune? Just auto tune? No real style or way o making music? Just auto-tune?

Certified Dope: Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse - Dark Night of the Soul

Actually, there's no music on this because of a dispute with EMI (mother fucking corporations). So in retaliation, Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse have included a cd that will reportedly be a blank CD-R that will allow buyers to put whatever they want on it.

So, why should you buy this? Because this blank album is accompanied by a 100+ page book of original photography by legendary director David Lynch (I have no idea the affiliation or connection between all parties involved and don't really care cause this is awesome).

Games: Skateboard Hero?

This looks awesome. Apparently it's being developed with Tony Hawk. I'm guessing it will be as close to real skateboarding as guitar hero is to playing guitar. But guitar hero is fun so.....

This is simply awesome. Although it's bullshit that MTV had to do it. Cause MTV is bullshit.

Advertising: Audi and BMW Billboard Wars

via: AutoBlog

Months back Audi placed a billboard on Santa Monica Blvd with their new A4 and the pull out reading "Your move, BMW". BMW then responded by placing a billboard across the street with the new M3 reading simply "Checkmate". Brilliant advertising by both sides, but BMW seizes victory in my mind. However, BMW may have made a huge mistake by using it's heavy artillery too early! Audi has since responded with a shot of the R8 and a tag that doesn't make any sense as far as the ad war goes: "Time to check your luxury badge. It may have expired."

So props to Audi on the vehicle retort, but BMW still wins the linguistics aspect.

Film: Forgotten Places

by: Zac Boyet <Zac Boyet on Vimeo>

from the director: "This is a project I have wanted to do for a long time. There is something about abandoned places that that is very intriguing. A place that was once a centerpiece in a few people's lives is now all but forgotten."
